Faith Made Public
Faith Made Public exists to influence the influencers, believing that every Christian is a disciple, a leader and a social influencer. Culture isn’t transformed from the top down but from the ground up as communities shaped by Faith begin to form. Our mission is to educate and empower every believer to become a kind of sacred anthropologist — someone who understands the culture and takes seriously the call to love our neighbour as a fellow image-bearer, fostering the communion of God in this world.
Dr Craig Heilmann
Theologian and ethicist Dr Craig Heilmann holds advanced degrees in theology and ethics from Duke University (USA) and Regent College (Canada) and has published work in both fields. His doctoral research focused on virtue ethics, human formation and Christian discipleship. He is married to Kim and is the father of three adult sons.
After planting and pastoring a church in Auckland, NZ, for 15 years, Craig and Kim returned to Australia in 2023. Today, their vision through Faith Made Public is to “make faith public” and show why it matters to belong to a “public made by faith.”
They believe that true cultural renewal in the West can only come through a return to the God revealed in Jesus Christ — not through contemporary two-party politics. Renewal begins with grassroots humanity and civic friendship — not from the top down, but from the ground up.
Craig currently serves as a Lecturer in Ministry and Social Studies and Academic Director at Christian Heritage College (Brisbane). He also sits on the Upper Room Church (Auckland, NZ) board, the Spiritual Support Team at Hillsong Church (Noosa), and the Council of Religious Leaders for the NZ Free Speech Union.
He is a member of the Human Research Ethics Committee at Bond University (Gold Coast), and a member of the Australian Academy for the Study of Religion (AASR), the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Political Science Association (APSA), the International Society for MacIntyrean Enquiry (ISME) and the Society for Pentecostal Studies.
Craig’s current research focuses on public theology. Together, he and Kim are using Faith Made Public to help parents and church leaders engage with Gen Z and the wider emerging youth culture.
Kim Heilmann
Kim spent many years working with young people through Youth for Christ before founding Attitude — a hugely successful mental health programme delivered across New Zealand schools.
Like Craig, Kim brings over 30 years of hands-on experience ministering to youth on the frontlines.
Together, their shared understanding of contemporary issues and the competing narratives young people face puts them in a unique position to lead this ministry.
They believe every young person should feel free to ask questions — and that God is never intimidated by our doubts.
In fact, He welcomes them.
